A couple months ago I noticed one of the stray cats in my neighborhood was limping pretty badly and when I was able to get a closer look I saw he had a badly swollen and bloodied paw. With help I was able to trap him and take him to a clinic where they cleaned the wound and gave him antibiotics. I kept him inside so I could monitor his healing, but every time I thought progress was being made I would discover the wound had reopened. So back to the vets he went. They did x-rays this time and discovered that he had two broken toes that kept causing an infection and unfortunately amputation was the best course of action. It's been almost a month since the procedure and he's been doing well. The missing toes haven't seemed to affect him any and his paw hasn't shown any signs of irritation or infection since.

In the beginning of all this I was fully prepared to fund his medical costs myself, however one of my resident cats was injured shortly after taking in the stray. My resident cat's recovery has been a long road that still isn't over and the costs are mounting so I'm turning to donations for the stray. Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT CAT: He's currently without a name, though "Cat" is what the vets have him listed as. He's estimated to be about 3 years old and is feral. As of now he rejects any human touch, but I've been trying to work with him on that. Despite his fearfulness, he's a very sweet boy.
