Support A Son’s Love: Help His Frontline Caregiver Mom

The non-profit ME-International is reaching out with heavy hearts on behalf of a board member and dear friend. We are asking you to join us in supporting a dedicated son as he faces the toughest challenge of his life. His young mother is in an intensive care unit, relying on a ventilator to breathe. She’s been in critical condition for some time, with no significant improvement in her lung function. Her lungs show severe scarring and stiffness despite never having smoked. She worked as a carer throughout the pandemic, selflessly helping others in their time of need.

The doctors are doing everything they can, but the road to recovery is long and very uncertain. During this incredibly challenging time, he’s facing the overwhelming task of not only being by his mother's side but also taking care of his two younger siblings at home. All while dealing with his own debilitating health conditions including ME and EDS. We desperately want to alleviate as much burden as we can to try and keep his health stable. He has dedicated this last year to helping the ME community, so now let’s help him.

Daily transportation costs to the hospital and his mom's house are a significant financial burden. We want to ensure that he can focus on what truly matters: supporting his mom and siblings without the added stress of financial strain.

Your donation will go directly towards:

-Transportation costs to the hospital and to his mother's house to care for his siblings.

-Groceries for the family

-Additional potential costs such as house cleaner, childcare, carer when she returns home, etc.

There’s so many unknowns as to how long this may last and what might be needed. How money is spent beyond transport and food will be included in weekly updates.
