Hi! I'm helping raise funds to help my parents, Shane and Kacey Kang, the owners of Dirk’s Fine Dry Cleaning, cover legal support costs related to an ongoing civil lawsuit they’ve filed concerning a property access issue with a neighboring business.

Since 2011, my family has proudly served the Salt Lake City community as a small, family-run dry cleaning business built on hard work, integrity, and long-standing customer relationships. However, a neighboring business’s drive-thru configuration has significantly impacted access to their property and impacted business. After trying for months to find a resolution through direct communication, my parents made the difficult decision to pursue legal action to protect their business, property rights, employees, and customers. During that time, they also sought guidance through appropriate city and state channels to better understand this issue and potential options, but ultimately had to pursue legal action to protect their business.

This issue has now been ongoing for over a year. During that time, my parents have tried to handle both the financial burden and emotional stress of this situation on their own while continuing to operate their business day-to-day. Legal matters are costly and time-consuming, and for a small family business, carrying those costs alone has become increasingly difficult and stressful. This business is not just their job — it is their livelihood and life’s work. They work six days a week, are the first to open and last to leave, and have poured their time, savings, and energy into keeping this business running for their family, employees, and customers. The prolonged uncertainty and financial strain of this situation has made an already demanding job even harder.
