Hello, my name is Wynn Yau, and I am a local small business owner and artist behind Inks By Wynn. I create and sell custom portraits, paintings, and merchandise. Participating at events is an important part of my small business, allowing me to connect with customers, share my work, and earn income that helps support my business.

On Friday May 22, 2026 during Anime North at the Toronto Congress Centre, I was the victim of a significant pickpocketing incident. While briefly walking away from my table between 6:30-6:55pm, approximately $4,500 in cash from my cash float was stolen from a fanny pack I was wearing. I immediately reported the incident to the organizers and filed a police report (documentation is available upon request). However, because the stolen funds were cash, the chances of recovery are unfortunately very low.

I am raising funds to help recover a portion of this unexpected loss. The stolen money was an accumulation of business funds that would have been used for art supplies, production costs, vendor fees, equipment, and future inventory. Losing these funds has created a significant financial setback for my small business.
