Support a Single Mom with a Sick Newborn
Donation protected
My name is Dena and who is a single mother to 3 kids: 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and 3-month-old.
I have not been able to catch a break since my youngest , who is 3 months old, was born. He was born a month early and had a week NICU stay. After 2 weeks of being home, everything took a turn and has changed since then. In October, he started showing small signs of being sick, nothing extreme, and my sister took her newborn in to get checked. He was then transferred to Temple where their stay turned into 3 weeks due to my son testing positive for Sepsis & Meningitis on top of other minor infections. The doctors told me if I hadn’t taken him in when I did, he wouldn’t have made it. While being admitted, they ended up finding a tumor in his left liver which was small and not cancerous, and it will eventually go away on its own. We got sent home and 2 weeks later he tested positive for RSV and got transferred back to Temple last month and was there for about a week due to difficulties breathing.
On November 21st, my son had a check-up in Temple for his tumor and it came back that it had doubled in size and can turn into cancer at any moment. Due to having RSV, they have to wait 6 weeks to be cleared from sickness. Starting next month, we will be in and out of the hospital for appointments for my 3-month-old and traveling back and forth from Bryan to Temple for follow-ups and surgery that’s scheduled next month. This is only the beginning.
Tumor info:
Mesenchymal Hamartoma Tumor
Gastrointestinal soft tissue mesenchymal tumors have been reported to be the most common cancers in this category.
Due to me not being able to work a full-time job and not able to take t-shirt orders while being in the hospital, anything is appreciated. This will help with travel expenses, bills, and funds to keep providing for all 3 kids. I have been doing my best and still am trying to take as many orders as possible to save up money ,up until next month on doing what I can. Anything is highly appreciated, even those who can’t donate, sharing is enough as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this. God bless.
