Support a single mom recover from leg injury

Hi everyone,

On August 3rd, Yaholi suffered a serious injury and broke her right leg, including the fibula, tibia, and ankle. The injury was so severe that it required surgery with multiple metal plates and screws to reconstruct the bones. Since then, she’s been unable to walk, work, or care for things the way she normally would. As a single mother to her sweet and energetic 7 year old daughter, this has been an incredibly difficult time.

To make matters even more challenging, Yaholi had just started a new job and hadn’t had the chance to build up much PTO (Paid Time Off). The little time off she had was used while waiting for the swelling to go down enough for surgery. Now she’s in recovery, unable to work, and without a paycheck. She’s facing a pile of medical expenses, including a large deductible, ongoing rehab costs, and an ambulance bill that wasn’t covered by insurance, all while trying to keep up with her mortgage, utilities, and the daily needs of her daughter.
