Hi, my name is Evelyn, and I graduated from the University of Nottingham this July. At the end of August, I began a three-month volunteering programme in a rural community in Eastern Ghana, working with the wonderful children of Timber Nkwanta.
I’ve now been here for just over a month, and the students are in the middle of Sports Week — an exciting time for everyone! Two girls’ teams are preparing to compete in a local sports competition, but they’re facing real challenges.
As someone who has been passionate about netball all my life, and having served on my university’s netball team and committee, it breaks my heart to see the girls trying their best with no proper court, makeshift posts, and having to use an old football and football bibs.
Your support could make an incredible difference. Every donation will go directly towards sports equipment for the girls including: proper netball posts, bibs, balls, and team kit for the girls. These resources will help them play safely, proudly, and with the same sense of team spirit that netball has given me over the years.
This is a cause very close to my heart, and I’d be so grateful for your help in giving these girls the chance to play and grow through sport.
