Help Me & Tommy Escape Unsafe Living Conditions

Hi, my name is Randy Wake, and I’m reaching out for urgent help. My beloved dog, Tommy, and I have been living in nearly uninhabitable conditions since May 2024 due to severe negligence by my apartment's property management. When I spoke out and exposed these conditions—inviting a local news crew to document the truth—I was met with retaliation, now facing what has been described as Constructive Eviction.

The Reality We’ve Endured:

No running water for 9 days when I moved in, and multiple outages since then.

Dangerous living conditions—holes in the walls, collapsed insulation, and exposure to harsh weather, causing skyrocketing utility bills (now over $1,800).

Unhealthy air & dust—forcing me to clean constantly and worsening my respiratory health.

Repeated threats & violence—including being targeted by a dangerous resident after management ignored my warnings. A week later, this individual violently attacked another tenant and was arrested.

Through all this, management has refused to make repairs or take action to ensure my safety. I’ve suffered physical injuries, financial hardship, and immense emotional distress, and now being diagnosed with PTSD, and Anxiety/Trauma Disorders.

Why I Need Your Help:

I am a 67-year-old retired IT professional, a survivor of domestic violence, a survivor of Aggravated Assault of an Elderly, and a former City of Austin 3-1-1 Ambassador who dedicated my time to helping others. Now, I need your help.

Due to my financial hardship, exacerbated by management’s neglect, delays in my Social Security payment, and unexpected expenses, I cannot afford to move to a safe home.
