Support a Safe New Start for Kami, Lani, and Noa

This fundraiser is a last resort effort to combat immediate homelessness. We want to be as open and honest about our situation as possible during this time of emergency; so who are we and what's the situation?

WHO WE ARE

THE SITUATION

Kami and Lani's place to stay for the last 2 years (East Texas) has been unsafe and unstable but the only option.

The person responsible for paying rent has not been paying but rather living somewhere else with her abuser, leaving them with no ride to keep a job or money to get food/toiletries and the abuser himself knows this location well.

A week and a half ago they were served an eviction notice and the court date was set for Monday, 04/28/25. With no hope of the rent payer's attendance and no word from them either, they now face immediate homelessness with a kitten.

Noa lives 6 hours away (South Texas) and has been applying for disability for 2 years now. She can only have a low part time during the process so she's forced to live with her homophobic family temporarily until they all can save up to get into a more developed town with job opportunities for all of them. She doesn't make enough to support them all herself and they would not be able to come stay with Noa either.

We first need help affording greyhound tickets/a rental car to be able to get the both of them (and Honey) down to STX where I'm located. TOTAL: $250 one-way bus tickets incl. luggage.

Arrangements are currently being made with a Salvation Army shelter down here to get set up to be able to call everyday asking if there's availability to house them long enough to figure out what's next. Honey will not be able to join unless we can get her ESA certified and taken to the vet for updated shots. TOTAL: AROUND $115 MIN. incl. ESA certification and shots

THE GOAL!

Raise $2,500 to get them down here and pay one month's rent and deposit to all move in together. A real clean (and safe) start somewhere walkable enough to get us back on our feet and stable again. We have a handful of places picked out that would work great.
