I’m a single mom of three amazing special-needs kids, and we’ve just done something I wasn’t sure we’d ever be able to do: we finally got out. We just relocated halfway across the country for our safety, but the fight isn’t over yet.

For the last five years, my children and I have been running from an abusive ex who nearly killed me. He held me hostage at knifepoint and swore my kids would have nightmares for the rest of their lives if I ever screamed for help. We’ve moved across multiple states, lived in fear, and rebuilt from nothing again and again — all while the system refused to protect us.

After years of struggle, we are finally in a safe place — but starting over yet again isn’t easy. We took with us what we could. The donations that helped us escape covered the moving truck and gas, but now we’re here with no car and no savings left. We are able to stay with a family temporarily, but we need our own space as soon as possible. I’m doing everything I can to rebuild stability for my kids — searching for our new home, waiting to get approved for disability benefits, and continuing to share our story to raise awareness for other survivors through my book Memoirs of a Mama on the Run and the Dismissed True Stories podcast.

Right now, we need help with:

• Basic essentials (groceries and household items like cleaning supplies, towels, and bed sheets)

• Winter clothes, coats, and boots

• Money to get our own place

• Transportation so I can get my kids to appointments and school

• Mental-health support and stability as we heal

Every single dollar goes toward rebuilding safety and stability for my family. Even the smallest donation helps us take one more step toward a normal life — something my kids have never truly had.
