I have survived cancer twice at 31 was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer, I had a full hysterectomy, six rounds of chemo and radiation and was cancer free for five years until I developed CLL leukemia, as a result of the treatment from the ovarian cancer. I was monitor and treated for the leukemia for years until a clinical along with cannabis, oil treatment put me in remission, March 20 24 .
I moved to Virginia almost 2 years ago when I was evicted from my apartment in Florida after being hospitalized for over a month due to an emergency hiatal hernia surgery and then developing scarlet fever. I was not able to work over a month while I was at the hospital and returning home and having to do all physical therapy on my own made it hard to work as well, after so much time in the hospital so I was evicted. I decided to move to Virginia with my partner because we had been together for 2 1/2 years and it was a chance to start over in a new state. On February 8, my partner told me she was gonna go to the neighbors house to watch some movies and hang out and she would be back the next day and if I needed anything, she was across the street. I went to bed Friday night, not knowing anything was wrong. Saturday morning, I woke up, realized that my electric wheelchair battery was dead and I could not move the wheelchair close enough to my bed to get out of bed because the charger was not fully plugged into the outlet and the chair was dead. My partner ignored all the phone calls and texts. Monday night, there was a knock on the door and my partner had called the police to do a welfare check because I’m sure her caretaker told her that she couldn’t leave me stranded in the bed any longer. I should’ve called the police myself sooner, but my partner had changed the door code so I couldn’t unlock or lock the door at all to let them in and they would’ve had to break down the door and I really didn’t understand what was happening because again I had no idea that anything was wrong initially. The ambulance took me to the hospital because I was dehydrated and covered in urine because I couldn’t get up to go to the bathroom . When I got to the ER. It was discovered that I had a very bad bladder infection and I caught the flu while I was at the hospital two days later.
legally, I’m allowed to be allowed back to our apartment because I contributed financially for two years and because I have been there for two years, but I don’t feel comfortable returning because my partner knowingly left me stranded in my bed unable to get out .I no longer want to be in Virginia because I don’t know anyone here but the hospital where I am have been medically cleared is pushing me to go into a long-term adult nursing facility. The facility will not provide physical therapy so I would most likely be left in the bed and lose all my strength. Once you are accepted, into a Medicaid long-term adult nursing facility you are required to stay for 30 days or else you have to pay out-of-pocket yourself. I want to get to New Jersey where my sister is to have a support system and also social services are better in New Jersey than in VA, and I could get  a wheelchair accessible apartment with assistance . I need financial assistance for the medical transport to get myself and my wheelchair from Virginia to New Jersey because I need a wheelchair accessible Van or a medical company to drive me. I also need help financially to pay for hotel expenses until I get approved for Medicaid and can find a suitable apartment in a safe environment. Two days after I was in the hospital the neighbor where my partner was staying brought over my wheelchair and two garbage bags full of clothes that’s all I have . One medical company quoted 5500 to transport me safely to NJ from Virginia_ Thank you for taking the time to read this.
