Hello,
I am a life skills teacher at Gonzale Elementary. In December 2025, our class started an incubation journey. We incubated chicken eggs and followed along with the science lesson to watch our eggs develop into chickens. From a total of 6 eggs, 3 newborn babies hatched. They are now 13 weeks old. My students and the students from the school love to watch and interact with the chickens.
The problem we are currently facing is that the fence we have for them is not predator-proof. Other chickens on our campus and across the district did not survive due to the cage not being predator-proof. I am asking for help to buy supplies needed so our chickens can safely live on campus. We currently bring them in every day after school and take them out every morning. Any funds donated will go towards the chickens and their coop outside.
