My friends and I do a lot of TNR (trap, neuter, return) of community cats in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles to cut down on the overpopulation of kittens being born and reduce the amount of cats on the street. We recently trapped and spayed/neutered/vaccinated several young, skittish and feral kitties and the areas where we trapped them are not friendly.
There are a lot of coyotes in these areas as well as people who simply don't want them returned to their neighborhood after being fixed. The kitties are not friendly enough to adopt out into homes, unfortunately. "Working cat programs" with various rescues are already overloaded with the amount of feral cats they are pulling from the city shelters.
We have the opportunity to build a couple of nice, large catios on the properties of sympathetic, cat-friendly people so the kitties can live out their lives in peace and safety. These kind people are willing to care and feed for these cats for the rest of their lives as long as we can build the catios. Your support will save these and other kitties so they don't have to risk their lives going back outside to dangerous situations.
Thank you in advance for your compassion! Any amount helps!
