Support a Ridge Runner for The Devils Path in 2025
Tax deductible
I need your help! After seeing impacts from the pandemic on trails in the Catskills, especially the Devils Path, I decided to do a Hike-A-Thon to raise money to create our very first Ridge Runner for the Devils Path.
For 4 years, we have had a trained person in Wilderness First Aid and Leave No Trace walking back and forth on the Devils Path from Memorial Day through Labor Day. They would interact with the public, administer first aid, give out water, pick up hiker trash, show campers where appropriate campsites were, and provide general Leave No Trace education.
In 2025, we may not be able to have an active Ridge Runner on the Devils Path. Kaaterskill Falls and The Blue Hole must have the appropriate amount of Stewards before we can have a Ridge Runner on the Devils Path. This year, there is not enough funding to do so. So once again, I’m going to rally the troops to raise the appropriate funding to hire one more additional steward so we can have a Ridge Runner for the 2025 season. This position I find so important as their presence can immensely help preserve and protect this trail and its surrounding areas.
