I don't use social media, but I'm a single mother who's lucky to be alive, but still has endured tremendous misfortune in the wake of a devastating event in late June of 2024. On June 18th, on the way home from work, I was T-boned at the rear entrance to Hughes Landing. My SUV was run into by an even larger vehicle, a Tahoe, which totaled mine on the scene. The doors wouldn't open and the windows wouldn't close, and they had to manually extract me from the SUV. One of the paramedics looked like she was about to pass out, and the only reason I was so lucky to get such immediate help is because there were police driving close behind us. I was on Bluetooth on the phone with my daughter at the time, who actually thought I died at the scene because my phone was in my pocket, and the crash wrecked it on the scene as well, thus losing all communication. The police said I was lucky to be alive, and, in fact, wouldn't be if I were driving any other type of vehicle. I was lucky enough to be able to buy a used vehicle come end of July, but one night in December, I was parked at the supermarket and everything was fine. I went in and came back and the car wouldn't start. It had apparently died completely, and so I purchased a new battery, but O'Reilly wouldn't put it in because it has to be factory install. A man, who was a truck driver, offered to put it in instead, and, of course, I accepted his help, and I know he meant no harm and that it was dark out at night, but he put the battery in backwards, which completely fried the fuse box and the main computer of the vehicle. I had to have it towed, who drove me home that night at around 2 A.M., to the mechanic that works for the dealership I bought my car from (which is not onsite. It is somewhere in Spring), but there is so much wrong with the car that repairs will cost ~$1,800, and I only use ~ because we are still counting. Without a means of transportation, I can lose my job as a result, and, without money, I cannot pay my rent either, so I am in dire need of assistance. Any and all assistance will be valued and accepted. Please find it in you to help a troubled mom. None of this should be happening. Please help us out however you can. If you cannot help us directly, share our message. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. My family has also endured monumental loss, and it is now only my daughter and myself. I don't have any money saved because it all went towards repairing the car.

I need to be able to pay the county $11,870 by October 12th.
