Hey y'all. A few years ago, I created a fundraiser because I ended up having to start all over fleeing from domestic violence. I became a single mother after being in a two-parent home for the longest time. It was a humbling experience, but I came through it. We found a beautiful home and we called it ours for two years. Our time at that home has suddenly expired; we were just served a 60-day notice of a non-renewal of our lease.

I have been extremely patient living in this home. We are constantly going through repairs due to AC or sink malfunctions. We even stayed at an Airbnb for 8 weeks from January of this year until March. At the time, I was 8 months pregnant, and the commute from the rental to my neighborhood where the kids have to be at school and myself on campus (I was about to graduate in May but I had to drop because I couldn’t make it on time coming from the Airbnb). I remained humble after my dream of graduating was shattered; I still continued to bring all of my kids to their three different schools. It took 8 weeks for them to fix just one floor and a sink. May I add that they got their rent of $3500 each month for the two months we were not in the home.

Now we are in the same situation again. This time it was the AC; there was a really bad leak (we have been getting repairs on it the entire two years I’ve been here). I can count on both hands how many times I’ve had to get me and my kids a hotel because the house was almost at 100 degrees. Anyways, we went away for a few weeks (June 18, 2025, till July 14th). We were told everything would be fixed while we were gone and before we got back. We visited family in Massachusetts; I lost my dad a few months back too, so we needed to go home to Boston. We just got back to Texas in early July to find the house completely under renovation, no flooring, etc. There is even a hole in the ceiling from the AC upstairs that leads to the first story. I have all of my kids on one couch because the house isn’t safe. We have been in and out of the hospital dealing with Upper respiratory infections etc , even my 4 month old baby caught it .. just from being in this home. I want to get them somewhere safe immediately,

I’ve asked the landlord for help with a hotel when the house was too hot, explained to them that my newborn baby couldn’t regulate her temperature yet. I explained to them that I had a condition where I couldn’t sleep like that, and that my kids were having a hard time breathing. Still, they said no, they couldn’t help with a hotel when the house was almost at 100 degrees. Thankfully, I was able to get into one. Did I mention when I came back they had their own personal TV in the home I’ve been renting? I asked them why, and they said for insurance purposes. Weird, right? They were out of the country while all of this was happening.

However, with this sudden notice to vacate, I’m in a position where I need help. I need help with movers, a moving truck, and security deposit since  I can’t get my deposit back from the landlord until 30 days or so after I move; I’ve already asked. My deposit with them is well over 3 thousand dollars , so I was hoping I could use it to move but NOPE ….I’m trying to stay calm. Finding a home and paying rent isn’t the problem, it’s the moving and deposit that have been sprung on me so suddenly. The deposits for a home that fit me and my children are normally between 3000-3500… if you have resources with movers or anything ? Id appreciate it or if you can share the link id appreciate that too…
Anything helps. I need help, I really don’t like asking for help but I’m desperate. I’m one person. Moving is expensive right at back-to-school time. I don’t know what else to do. My kids are 12, 10, 7, 5, 2, and 3 months old. Please, anything helps. I re-enrolled in school and have been paying for the classes that I need out of pocket. I still have to pay my bills, so there is nothing extra. I need help.
