Support a Resilient Father in Need

Hello, my name is Nicole Phillips. I live in Waynesville, North Carolina. I am creating this page for my child's father, Caleb Michael London. Our little girl, Presley London, is the youngest of his four children. Michael has also been a friend of mine for nearly 15 years. Michael is a single, hardworking, and great father who lost his home in Clyde, NC due to flooding caused by Hurricane Helene when it hit Western North Carolina on September 27, 2024. His home was flooded to the ceiling and displaced from its foundation by the Pigeon River that flows through parts of Haywood County. Aside from a few salvaged belongings, they lost everything. Many folks have been very kind to bring clothes and toys for the girls because those are the only things he has mentioned when asked what he needs. He has not asked for anything for himself. I know he will need to replace tools for work (he is self-employed and runs a small construction business with his dad). He also needs clothing, personal items, and financial assistance. He is extremely self-sufficient and almost never asks for help. This past week found him driving gas, water, and food to people in Cruso and Clyde, even though his own home had been lost. (All of this with a broken wrist from just a couple of weeks before.)

Some of you have asked me how you can help. While he has also applied for federal assistance, we all know things will take time and the process of recovery is hard. Due to these reasons, I've created this page so that he may be able to keep up with his financial needs while he is currently out of work and may not be fully back to work in the coming weeks due to his injury. The money will be spilt evenly towards his truck payments, gas, insurances, replacing tools, groceries for the family, and towards a deposit for a new place to rent.
