Support a Resilient Family Rebuilding Their Lives

I'm a son to an amazing mom and dad, and a brother to an awesome brother who have lost everything for the second time within 8 years.

We lost everything in a house fire in 2016, and now they have lost everything by flooding with Tropical Cyclone 8 that hit us in Brunswick County on September 16th, 2024. My mother and my brother's fiancé were rescued from the house while it was being flooded, with 4 cats and two dogs.

They don't usually ask for pity or help, and they didn't the first time they lost everything, but I think they need it now. They lost most of the things in their house and lost two cars. They didn't have flood insurance because they weren't supposed to be in a flood zone, but the rain we received was a thousand-year high apparently.

They will most likely file for bankruptcy and will be in debt $80,000 or so unless they can sell what's left and get something back. We are doing everything we can to save and recover what they lost.

My dad works two jobs, and my mom is recently unemployed. They only have one car at the moment. Me and my brother are doing what we can, but my family is not blessed with money.

They are living with me in my house, but it's not a big house, so they will need a place soon.

My parents are 64 and 51, starting over from scratch at those ages when you're trying to wind down and retire in your older years, and after all the work they've put in for us and themselves just to be lost, just isn't what anyone decent deserves, but life is life and God provides.
