Support a Queer, Brown Cultural Bearer & Artist in Need
Donation protected
I’m asking for help on behalf of someone who has been a constant source of love and strength in my life. A queer, Brown, disabled artist and cultural bearer—this person has fed me spiritually, emotionally, and literally when I’ve needed it most. They are the kind of person who shows up with open arms and an open heart, even when they’re struggling themselves.
Now, they’re facing a financial emergency, and I’m hoping our community can give back even a fraction of what they’ve poured into so many of us.
Due to ongoing medical issues, they’ve been hit with several bills that have resulted in automatic withdrawals from their bank account, which has left them unable to pay for urgently needed car repairs and registration renewal. Their car is essential for daily life—getting to work, to community spaces, and to critical appointments. Without it, they’re at risk of falling further behind and losing even more stability.
This is a person who lives their truth out loud. They’re a fierce advocate for queer and marginalized communities, a defender of justice, and a believer in radical care. Despite navigating disability, they continue to create, organize, uplift, and hold space for others in ways that go unseen and often uncompensated.
I’m asking for $1,000 to help them breathe a little easier:
$800 for DMV registration and car repairs
$200 for a small cushion toward everyday needs like groceries, gas, and basic essentials
If you’ve ever been touched by someone who loved you without condition, who showed up for you even when they had little to give—please consider donating or sharing this. Every bit counts.
In community with deep love and gratitude,
