Support "A Pregnant Pause" Opera Production
Donation protected
"A Pregnant Pause" tells the story of Serena, a woman awaiting the results of a home pregnancy test. She doesn't know if she wants to be pregnant or not. She is visited by two angels, both herself. One angel argues in favor of being pregnant and the other against it.
"A Pregnant Pause" was written by Garth Baxter, a Maryland composer noted for his modern traditionalist style of writing. He is recognized as one of the preeminent composers of art songs and has been described as an unabashed, lyrical, tonal composer. The librettist is Alize Francheska Rozsnyai, a Philadelphia-area librettist and classically trained soprano.
We are seeking to raise money for production costs to put this important work on stage. Now more than ever, becoming pregnant and the choices women have around this issue have become a lightning rod in our world, and it is crucial that we explore these themes in the art we produce. Your donations will go toward music/video recordings, paying musicians and costs of publicity for the show.
