On May 10, 2025, I got into my race car to race what I thought would be a typical race. I climbed in, buckled my harness up, put my neck brace on, and of course, my helmet. I pulled into the track, hoping the rain was gonna hold off. The race started; my boy and wife were in the stands. I was excited because she rarely comes these days as the heat gets to her. The race starts, lap 4 comes around, then it all happened so fast. A car accidentally hooked my right rear, sending me straight into the wall, coming out of turn 2 WIDE OPEN. I recall thinking this is gonna hurt, but I couldn’t react enough to get my foot off the gas pedal. I felt the full impact of the hit. I felt my car bounce what I'm now told was 2 ft off the ground. My teeth were broken out of my mouth. I was immediately flooded with emotion and adrenaline. But I was ok. I went to the hospital, and everything was ok aside from being sore and bruised up. The car builder built that car well. Extra bars saved my life. The other driver helped me a little towards the replacement of the car as it is not salvageable. But I still need to replace my safety gear: helmet, straps, neck brace, and extra bars installed into the new car for safety. My seat is ok, as well as my dental bill. Everyone who knows me knows I pride myself on the appearance of my car, so I would also like to have new vinyl numbers, and of course, I have to paint it and clear it to make it shiny. Racing is my passion; I enjoy it, and my son finally got to the point he enjoys watching me race. Please consider helping me get back to what I love to do! Thank you in advance. If you can’t donate money, it’s ok; encouraging words are welcomed.
