Support a New Start for a Homeless Young Black Girl

Donation protected
Hello! I am a 22-year-old queer black girl living in my car in Connecticut. I have been homeless since May 5th, 2025. I work full-time in a grocery store, but living in my car is very expensive. I’m currently living paycheck to paycheck to support myself and my two cats.

I am originally from North Carolina. I came to Connecticut in February due to homelessness and the inability to find work in the Carolinas. Connecticut was supposed to be my new start, but my living situation took a turn in May, resulting in my homelessness. I am in connection with 211 and other similar organizations, but I’m just not receiving the help or care that I need and deserve.

Regretfully, I attempted suicide on June 21st, 2025, from the stress of my living situation. It felt like there was no hope, and my only way out was me taking things into my own hands. I don’t want to die. I have goals, aspirations, and dreams just like anyone else. I just need help, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I’m asking for this money for hotel rooms, gas to get to and from work and appointments, cat food and litter, as well as a security deposit for a new apartment, application fees, and anything else that is needed when trying to get an apartment. Please help me in any way you can, by donating, sharing, or praying for me. I am alone. I have next to no family and not many friends to help me. I thank everyone in advance. Bless you all! ♡
