Support a New Priest's Journey to Alaska
Donation protected
Glory to Jesus Christ! I am Fr. Mark Solomon, a recent graduate of St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary. With much prayer and discernment, the guidance of my spiritual father, and the consideration and generosity of his grace Alexei, Bishop of Sitka and all Alaska, I have answered a call to that place where Orthodoxy first came to this country: that great northern state of Alaska.
Thanks to the generous support of the diocese, I will soon be making the big move from Pennsylvania to Anchorage, along with my wife, Matushka Alana. I will be attached to the St. Innocent Cathedral in Anchorage for further service and study, until such a time that I am assigned elsewhere in the diocese. We are both very excited and humbled by the possibilities that lay ahead!
We are seeking aid in offsetting the costs of making the big transition from PA to AK. In addition to travel costs, we are wrapping up some last minute business here, and shipping our small stash of stuff all the way north. We hope to visit family in Washington State who I haven't seen in over a decade, and may not see for many years afterward, then we will make the jump over Canada.
Once we actually get to Alaska, we will be provided for, and Matushka continues to earn extra income through her work. (She is also in the process of finishing complete sets of vestments in all the necessary colors! So we will be squared away once we've arrived.)
Your financial assistance would truly make a meaningful difference in our lives during this time of great change. (Note: Any extra funds, should we be so fortunate, will go toward purchasing a vehicle in AK as soon as possible.)
Please keep us in your prayers as we launch into the next leg of this great journey, and thank you for your support!
