Hello everyone,

I would like to start off by saying that this is completely out of my comfort zone. I am usually the one to figure things out on my own, but I am in dire need of help.

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and in a very difficult living situation. I have been paying my landlord every two weeks in order to stay in my apartment. It’s not my ideal housing, but it was either this or be on the street. 

Due to having difficulty finding employment in 2022 and finally securing a stable job in 2023. During that time of unemployment, I was able to fall behind on my rent. So since 2023, I’ve been paying my landlord every two weeks and I had to sign a consent judgment basically stating i will honor that payment arrangement. 

However, I recently found out that the agreement is not legit and I have been in a cycle of paying this landlord all of my money with no end goal of paying what I owe off in a legal matter. So now, I need to move out of this property into somewhere else with a legitimate landlord with an official leasing agreement. 

I AM NOT BEING EVICTED CURRENTLY.  I AM TRYING TO MOVE OUT OF THIS PROPERTY AND FIND A NEW LANDLORD. 

 I work really hard at SLU Hospital every day trying to pay off this balance, along with utilities, food, etc., but it’s not going to be enough by the time I give birth this November. If anyone could help, even just by sharing, I will be truly grateful. The goal is to have enough to move immediately into a newer, safer environment with an official leasing agreement.

If I’m being totally transparent, this is very embarrassing for me, and it’s taken a very long time for me to even consider asking for this much financial help.
