Starting Over After the Eaton Fire – Why We’re Relaunching This Campaign
Hi, my name is Kiersten Weaver.
Many of you generously supported my family after we lost our home and everything we owned in the Eaton Fire. Your kindness meant the world to us during an unimaginably difficult time.
Unfortunately, the original GoFundMe — which was set up by a family member — was never fully activated, as a bank account was never linked. As a result, all donations were automatically refunded. Discovering this was a heartbreaking blow after so many losses.
I’m now relaunching this fundraiser under my own name, with everything properly set up to ensure your support reaches us directly.
Your help is still very much needed. Besides losing our home, my partner and I are new parents trying to care for our baby in the middle of this upheaval.
Our daughter was just 3 months old when the fire hit — she’s now 7 months, growing fast and full of light — but has already experienced more disruption than any baby should.
We lost our home, our belongings, and the basic sense of safety that every family needs. We’re doing everything we can to create stability and security again, especially for our daughter.
If you previously donated and received a refund, or if you're just hearing our story for the first time, we would be deeply grateful for your support.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference as we try to move forward.
Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support.
With love and gratitude,
Kiersten, Oscar, and Baby
