Hello, world! My name is Adrian. After a years-long plan to move this year fell through to start my life over in a safer environment, I'm in need of any help I can get. I'm solidly back to square one: All I had saved went into survival or keeping my phone on through the kindness of friends so that I could contact doctors or get to appointments safely, but that has run out.
Where the funds earned will go to:
- Transportation costs to doctors and other appointments
- Eventual housing or at least rent
- Diabetic supplies including food
- Anything else needed to get me stable
In spite of many kind folks pointing me to local organizations, I'm written off as "too old" at 36 for resources meant to help folks get independent living and have years long waitlists for housing, I am also considered to be in a "hostile but not life-threatening" living situation in spite of being threatened with getting kicked out when mom passes.
Since I'm single, childless, have no degree, and cannot drive due to siezures - these all shrink the areas of help available - I am in a grey area as far as being declared legally disabled, currently working on that process.
The situation with my family is unsalvagable - years of tension and caregiver burnout have come to this. After a serious medical scare and the implosion of my moving plan, it's put me face to face with the reality that I am on borrowed time to get out for my own health. Should my mother die before I can secure housing, I'll be on the streets with my cat, and with a compromised immune system, diabetes, and an at-risk heart, I won't survive a month. I want to be able to get out of there or at least have the funds set for it.
In short, I can't prepare for the storms alone. Every share means the world to me. May you be blessed.
