My name is Andrea Johnson, and I have a deep passion for supporting children, teens, and adults with autism, Down syndrome, and developmental disabilities. For over 20 years, I have worked hands-on with individuals who need understanding, patience, and care that allows them to thrive.
Today, I am taking a leap of faith to launch my own service —
Johnsons Healthcare & Respite Support Service Inc. is an in-home support service dedicated to helping families in Innisfil, Barrie, and Simcoe County.
This is more than a business for me.
It is my calling.
It is the work I love and the work God placed on my heart.
But I am starting from the ground up, and I do not yet have the financial resources to purchase everything I need to start safely, professionally, and legally.
That is why I humbly ask for your support.
Many families in our community are struggling with overwhelming exhaustion. Numerous parents struggle to find trustworthy caregivers who truly understand autism, Down syndrome, and dual diagnosis — especially families with nonverbal children or children with higher support needs.
My goal is simple:
To provide parents with relief
To provide individuals with structure, confidence, and life skills
To support families with compassion, patience, and dignity
To offer respectful, person-centred support
With your help, I can bring this service to life and truly make a difference for families who urgently need reliable support.
How the funds will be used
Your donation will directly support the development of this community service. Funds will be allocated to:
Liability and business insurance
CPR and First Aid Certification
Autism and behavioural intervention training
Client safety equipment and supplies
Website upgrades and scheduling tools
Marketing aimed at aiding families in need
Transportation expenses for community outings
Every contribution — big or small — helps drive this mission forward.
Why this matters
Simcoe County faces a shortage of reliable and consistent support workers.
Parents are overwhelmed, and families are facing hardships. Children are missing out on the vital support they urgently need.
I want to help close that gap.
I strive to bring hope, patience, and stability to families who feel exhausted and overwhelmed.
