Support a Neighbor's Recovery After Hurricane Milton
Donation protected
On October 9th of last year, hurricane Milton struck Florida, leaving a path of destruction in its way. Many homes suffered devastating damage, and unfortunately, my street was among the worst affected. While I was fortunate to have received support to repair my home fairly quickly, my neighbor is facing a much more difficult situation.
She has been unable to start any repairs on her house, which is currently without of floors, walls, and furniture—the very things that make a house a warm home. Upon tearing up her damaged floors, she discovered a significant foundation crack that has lead to major delays in getting the necessary repairs done. To make matters worse, she had previously reported this issue to our homeowners' association years ago, but it went overlooked and neglected.
Although FEMA has provided some assistance, it falls well short of what she actually needs for even basic repairs. To add to her distress, her temporary housing has now come to an end, leaving her with nowhere to go.
Having lived in her home for over 40 years, this situation has left her utterly devastated. The weight of her struggles has taken such a toll that she even had to be hospitalized. This is a really tough time for her, and any support through donations would be immensely appreciated. Thank you for considering helping her during this incredibly challenging time.
