FOOD & FUNDS DRIVE-HELP US LIFT UP A LOCAL WOMAN IN CRISIS
Friends, we’re reaching out today with heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency. As many of you know, our HYH sanctuary is part of an incredible community here in Lodi-a community that steps up when someone is in need. Today, we’re asking for your help.
Just down the road from our sanctuary lives a 60-year-old woman who has fallen on extremely hard times. She is doing her very best to make the most of a heartbreaking situation, but right now, she is living without electricity, relying on a small propane camping stove, and caring for her dogs, cats, and chickens with whatever she can manage. She receives a small amount of support through SNAP, but it barely scratches the surface of what she needs to get back on her feet.
With the major storm hitting our area right now, her situation has become urgent. No heat, no power, no transportation- and no way to safely ride out the weather that is impacting all of us.
We want to show her what we firmly believe:
There is good in this world. There are people who care. No one has to face hardship alone.
HYH is organizing a Food & Funds Drive to help her through this crisis. We are collecting:
Non-perishable foods
Items that can be cooked on a small propane stove
Pet food for her dogs, cats, and chickens
Financial donations to help get her back on her feet
If you are able to give-even a little-it will make a real and immediate difference for her safety and her animals’ well-being.
Drop-off locations:
• 14803 East Tokay Colony Rd, Lodi
• Los Caballos Equine Practice, Acampo
Pick-up is also available for anyone who needs it-just message us and we can arrange a time.
For her privacy and safety, we are keeping her identity anonymous. Our only goal is to lift her up, protect her, and make sure she is not facing this storm-or this season of hardship-alone.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your kindness matters, please know: it absolutely does. ❤️
Let’s show her what community looks like. Let’s show her love, compassion, and hope.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts,
Hold Your Horses Evac & Rescue
