Hi! My name is Jena Ellenwood- I am a cocktail educator and filmmaker based in NYC.
My latest short documentary, Spirited Ladies:A Neat History, will be having its WORLD PREMIERE next month! I’ll be sharing more details on that later…
A little about the project and how YOU can get involved:
I’ve been teaching cocktail classes in NYC for over a decade. It has made me realize just how little people know about what they pour in their glass beyond how it tastes. But the fact that so many of you sign up to take class with me PROVES that y’all want to learn about this!
Fermented and distilled beverages have a rich and vibrant history– one that would not exist without the ingenuity of women. And cocktail culture? Oh honey, let’s hear it for the historic ladies that helped shape that too!
This project is a way for you all to get a quick little shot of history from some amazing women who all happen to be experts in it. I am so honored that they all gave their voices and knowledge to this piece.
My hope is that this documentary (once you see it) inspires you to learn more about what is in your glass and who helped put it there!
✨How can you help? ✨
You can click the fundraising link and contribute whatever you can to help me and my amazing creative team turn this into a Neat History series!
Think of it as tipping your bartender.
Yes that’s right- I’m not done with one 8 minute doc, there are so many more stories to tell and so many more voices to share! I have a list of episodes in a range of rad topics all ready to be researched and filmed, once I can afford to do so!
What will your $$ do?
Help pay creatives for editing, camera work, historical footage, research time— there are real people working with me and creatives deserve to be compensated for their work.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support.
Cheers
Jena
