Kathryn "Kate" Burton, our much loved family member, died unexpectedly at home at the age of 42 on June 12, 2021. Kate was a poet, artist, and single mother to her daughter, Dahlia, 9.
Kate's was a dedicated mother and fierce advocate for her young daughter's education and wellbeing. Kate's biggest wish for Dahlia was that she always be nurtured in a loving home and have access to a great education.
The family has joined together to ensure Kate's wish for Dahlia's care and support be honored, despite this tragic loss.
Family and friends have set up a support fund to help Dahlia's immediate transition to her new home with her uncle, Mike Burton, his partner Christina Dell Angelo, and three cousins.
We hope that contributions will help support Dahlia's transition--a new bedroom set, clothing, and medical bills--as well as an educational fund established for her continued education.
