I’m a young mother of two children, living in a very remote area with no family support and no safe options left. I’ve been trapped in an abusive relationship for years. I’ve tried everything within my reach to get help.

The only shelter that can take us is off-island—but because of a custody arrangement involving my oldest child, I cannot leave the island without risking losing them. That’s not a choice I’m willing to make.

Local resources have done what they can, but there is no housing, no available rentals currently, and no shelter available here. I’ve got no support system and my situation keeps getting worse.

Ive tried four times so far, using the dv resources here and on my own. But so far it has backfired every time.

I am asking for help to raise $8,000 to purchase a used vehicle or small RV that I can live in with my children. This would give us a safe place to sleep, a way to stay together, and a chance to start over. I plan to work and build a new life for us from there — I just need the first step to be possible.
