Help a Mother Fight for Her Children.

At the beginning of our marriage, I followed my husband to Las Vegas and Arizona before that for his job, leaving behind my entire support system my family and friends in California. Here, he has his entire family. I have no one. Our marriage fell apart, and we separated in 2023. What I never expected was to end up fighting for my children completely alone. Today I went to court without an attorney, because I couldn’t not afford one. While my soon-to-be ex-husband hired one. I stood there scared and unprepared, trying to navigate through a legal system I didn’t understand. Even after the court granted me child support last October , I never tried to take full custody because I believed our children deserved to have both parents actively involved in their lives. I chose cooperation over conflict.

But now, he and his attorney asked the court for full custody and it was granted. Not only have I lost custody of my children, but I have also been ordered to pay child support, despite barely making it paycheck to paycheck. I am already struggling just to cover basic living expenses, and this has made an unbearable situation even worse. I left that courtroom without my children, completely heartbroken.

I truly believe this decision was unjust, but I cannot fight this battle without legal representation. I have another court hearing in June, and this may be my only chance to change what has happened.

I am asking for financial help to hire a Family Law Attorney so I can have a fair chance to fight for my children.
