Support a Mother of 4 After ICE Detainments

In January, a mother of four was stripped from her family and support when ICE detained her mother, father, and fiancé. These abductions left this mother suddenly alone and without the resources she needs to care for her and her children.
Since then, Ana has had to spend tens of thousands of dollars on legal fees and her monthly bills, which have accumulated beyond what she's able to pay.
Now, she's trying to get back on her feet, but her debt accumulated while it was unsafe to go outside, and her monthly payments + rent (and the cost of taking care of four children) are more substantial than what she's able to bring in financially.
She is looking for help and support to get stability for her and her kids while she finds consistent work through her cleaning business (that was doing well prior to Metro Surge) and pays down the accumulated debt from this past year.
This fundraiser was created by a community neighbor who refuses to stay silent as families like this one are torn apart and those left behind have to scramble and navigate lists of organizations for aid who are already flooded with requests.
Donations have significantly declined since the spotlight was on Minnesota earlier this year, but our neighbors still need substantial help. Ana's is just one experience of thousands who were impacted.
Your contribution will help her family access stability and safety and will help cover costs for:
• Rent and utilities so they can remain in their home
• Basic essentials for the family, who has been stripped of their primary income and support
• Legal aid for the ridiculously expensive and complicated immigration process (of which Ana has completed all necessary steps to be here legally, but the process is costly)
• Past due debt payments accumulated since the start of Metro Surge
Every donation is an act of solidarity. It sends a message that this family is not alone, and that our community stands firmly against unjust detentions that traumatize children and destabilize families.
If you cannot give, please share widely. Collective action and community care are powerful and desperately needed at this time.
** Please note - For the family’s safety, we are not using names or photos. If you believe you have a cleaning opportunity (preferably rental / turnover units, schools / universities, or offices) please send us a message to see if there's a fit (and thank you so much for the potential help with getting her and the family stable income)!
