Support a Mother in Need of Mobility
Donation protected
In 2023, I was diagnosed with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), and in 2024, it was discovered that I have a benign brain tumor. I have chronic migraines accompanied by extreme vertigo, dizziness, nausea, light sensitivity, etc. about 4-6 days of the week. On a good day, I cannot stand for longer than 10-15 minutes without my heart rate reaching up to 220 (as high as my monitor goes, anyway), chest pain, and presyncope that has led to me fainting. I have a wonderful 4.5-year-old and I am unable to go with her and my husband to the park, the zoo, or even grocery shopping except on the rare occasion that I feel okay, and then this leads to a flare-up that can last weeks. I have thoroughly researched mobility aids for months to figure out what would work best for me. Insurance will not cover the cost of a foldable motorized wheelchair unless it is needed within the home, and my home is the only space where a mobility aid would not be useful, as it is small and fits my needs.
Thank you so much to anyone who has read this far and considered donating to my wheelchair fund. A wheelchair will change my quality of life and I am looking forward to being able to join my family and friends on outings, easier doctor appointments, etc.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thanks to the support I have received so far, I am able to explore better wheelchair options than I imagined would ever be possible. Anything extra will go towards professional training with my service dog in training, Meeko!
