Support a Mother Facing Foreclosure Crisis
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
My mother has been living in the same home since 1983, a townhome her husband of 30 years bought while it was still being built. I was raised in this home and watched my father work on every part of it. When I was in school, my father was diagnosed with Parkinson's, and I watched him get even more obsessed with his projects to keep himself from thinking about his illness. When he had his stroke, my mother and I cared for him in that home for many years until he finally passed away.
My mother loves this home and loves the community around it, but without my father’s social security, she has been struggling financially, fighting foreclosure for the last 4 years. Just recently, while she has been keeping up to date with payments to get it out of foreclosure, the neighborhood association issued her a notice to replace her roof. She’s gone through at least 13 roofing companies that told her it would be impossible to get a loan because of the house being in foreclosure. A month after that letter, she was sent another from the attorney representing the association, fining her $3400 for late payments going back to 2023 that she was unaware of and attorney’s fees. She tried to set up a payment plan with the attorney only for them to tell her that it was turned down by the association. She has done everything she can to raise the money for the fine but has been unable to do so, and a lien has been placed on the house.
I do not want all her efforts, stress, and tears to have been for nothing, so I am asking anyone who has anything to spare to help her raise the $3400 before the attorneys take the next step to put the house back into foreclosure.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
