Help support Ula’s legacy live on.

Donation protected
Last winter on December 10, Ula Marguerite Podesta Chalmers died suddenly and tragically at age 16.

Ula was, like all our children, full of potential. Her warm heart drew family and friends to her. She was so much fun and full of love and had countless dreams for her adult self. If you're raising kids right now or you know someone who is, I don't have to tell you how dangerous it is for teens. Ula was figuring out how to grow up in a post-COVID world when the worst possible nightmare for any parent happened.

Please donate and and share this link to help Ula’s mom, Amanda continue her path of grief, sharing her devastating loss, and spreading awareness of the impact of the unregulated toxic drug supply. Ula left an enormous hole in all of our lives and Amanda is entirely grateful to all those who have been generous with her, her family and friends, colleagues, and community.

Amanda is working tirelessly to raise awareness about the toxic drug supply and the teen mental health crisis. She has started a website and blogs daily. Her work will grow to include pertinent information and resources for young people and caregivers alike. Practical information that comes from a parent that has gone through the heartbreak of waitlists, misinformation, outdated resources, and closed doors.

She aims to use her skills as a teacher and researcher to create a space for families, caregivers and young people to share their knowledge and experiences through art and media. These perspectives are the ones we need to listen to.

Another of Amanda’s mission is to help create change in the judicial system. She will need support with legal fees as she fights an archaic system that let her and her daughter down multiple times. No one should be going through this. Young people are at increased risk to the toxic drug supply and too many hands are ‘tied.’

We can't bring Ula back, but we can help Amanda do the work that can and has saved other lives. It could be a teen you know. Any of our teens. Please consider giving any amount to help Amanda do this vital work. She is desperately trying to make sure other families don't endure what she is, namely, a preventable and tragic death. Every donation honours Ula's life and legacy.

No one should be going through what Amanda is right now. The stakes are terrifyingly high for all our teens. Ula did not die in vain. Her life and legacy have already helped so many youth work towards their own futures. Ula has already saved lives. Let’s help her continue to save more.

Please consider donating to create a long-lasting legacy for Ula, understanding loss and awareness for this terrible tragedy.

She should still be here.
