Hi. I am 41 years old and a single woman with three children. A 6yo boy, a 12yo girl and 21yo boy. I was diagnosed with mucousal adenocarcinoma of the colon stage 4 in July. I have a long road ahead of me in treatment to extend my life, and things are piling up. Things like the mortgage, gas and electric. I think I should explain a little.

So I started having problems in May of this year. It took a few trips to the ER to get a guess of what was going on which was suspected appendicitis. After multiple visits and trying antibiotics and draining abscesses that didn't work, we opted for surgery. Honestly I was fortunate as I didn't end up needing a colostomy bag. The surgeon removed my appendix and part of my transverse colon. I had to go back into the hospital after surgery to have another abscess drained.

That experience caused me to become three months behind in all my bills since I live paycheck to paycheck normally and it took three months from the start to my recovery. Plus i racked up a new bill for a CT scan. I'm a single mom. I'm currently catching up on everything as best as I can. I am a nurse and I work per diem on the night shift since going back to work. Now I'll be out of work again to get chemotherapy for 6 months.

I know I'm more fortunate than others are. I haven't lost our home yet. I hope it doesn't come to that but I'll keep on fighting because life is worth it. And my kids deserve a home while they try to navigate their new life with their mom being sick.

I understand times are hard and some people can't help right now, but if anyone can, I am asking for donations like $20. Anything will help.
