I am a 28-year-old mom of two beautiful girls, and right now I’m working to rebuild our lives after leaving a domestic violence situation.

Making the decision to leave was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but my daughters’ safety and future mean everything to me. I’m currently trying to move about 200 miles back to where my family lives so we can finally have a stable and supportive environment.

Starting over has meant letting go of almost everything we own. I’ve been selling many of my personal belongings just to cover the basics and to afford the cost of moving the most important things my children need with us. My goal is simply to get us safely relocated so we can begin a new chapter surrounded by people who love and support us.

While I’m grateful to have family for emotional support, they are not in a position to help financially, and with two young children I’m doing everything I can to manage this transition on my own.
