Support a Bookstore & Native Plant Shop on Wheels

Imagine a vibrant mobile bookstore rolling through the streets of Los Angeles—where books and California native plants come together to nourish both minds and landscapes. This bookstore and plant shop on wheels is more than just a retail space; it’s a traveling cultural hub dedicated to diverse storytelling, ecological awareness, and community empowerment.

Books That Inspire & Empower
Our mobile bookstore will feature banned books and BIPOC authors—literature that broadens perspectives and sparks conversation. In neighborhoods where bookstores are scarce, we’ll bring these vital stories, along with California native plants, directly to communities—creating a space where knowledge, culture, and environmental action intersect.

Restoring Landscapes & Connections
Just as books bring stories to life, native plants bring biodiversity to our neighborhoods. Alongside a thoughtfully curated book selection, we’ll offer California native plants and workshops that celebrate the connections between culture, ecology, and community—inviting people to explore ways to bring more plants into their own spaces.

A Bookstore on a Mission
This mobile bookstore and plant shop is committed to:
✅ Championing diverse voices & stories
✅ Bringing books & green spaces to underserved neighborhoods
✅ Creating a welcoming space for learning, connection, and environmental action
✅ Supporting local authors, artists, and gardeners through community programming

Your support will help launch this initiative by funding:
A diverse book inventory
A fully-equipped mobile bookstore
Native plant distribution & gardening workshops
Community events, author talks, and cultural programming

About the Founder
I’m Aurora, a lifelong advocate for literature and community. In 2012, I opened La Casa Azul Bookstore, which quickly became a beloved cultural space. I’ve always been committed to creating environments where culture and community thrive, and this passion led me to pursue roles where strategic planning and collaboration can drive meaningful change.

Now, I’m bringing my expertise, vision, and passion to my hometown, Los Angeles—blending my love for books, culture, and native plant advocacy. As a California native plant gardener, I transformed my own front yard into a pollinator-friendly oasis, and I’m excited to share that experience with communities across LA, fostering more green spaces that support local ecosystems.

This bookstore and plant shop on wheels is the culmination of my work as a literary curator, cultural strategist, and environmental advocate—building a movement, one book, one plant, and one conversation at a time.
