Two weeks ago, I learned that my mother was detained by ICE. Her partner was taken at the same time but was released, and was able to alert us to my mom being taken. Since then, I have been focusing on securing legal representation and preparing the necessary paperwork for her case. Her court date was set for this week but was delayed. We are relieved to have more time to prepare, while anxious about next steps and covering legal fees. Trying to be there for my mom has also impacted my ability to work. Anything you can contribute would be appreciated.
