Zach Marquez is a Marine Combat Veteran who honorably served through multiple austere deployments as an Infantry Rifleman and Squad leader.
After almost a decade of service in the Marine Corps, Zach lost his leg in a motorcycle accident, putting him and his wife Vicky on a pause from working and generating income.
A Warrior Who Always Put Others First – Now Needs Us.
Zach was most known around his unit for compassion towards those under him and genuine leadership abilities, always putting others before himself. He proved this on multiple occasions through his actions in combat. For example, every occasion where an improvised explosive device was suspected, Zach refused to allow his junior marines to approach by themselves. Zach would put himself in the most dangerous situations to make sure obstacles were removed and his Marines could continue mission. During ambushes, Zach would move under fire to the most advantageous position to gain fire superiority and eliminate the threats.
Zach didn’t just lead from the front—he stood in the gap for others under fire. Time and again, he put himself in harm’s way so others wouldn’t have to. That’s who he is—someone who carries the weight so others don’t have to.
Today, Zach is facing a battle no one should fight alone.
Zach is undergoing surgeries and recovery due to the amputation. Zach and his wife Vicky are resilient, and fighting through this new challenge. Medical bills, home adjustments, and everyday expenses are mounting. Zach is in the process of working towards an ADA compliant home and is seeking a service dog.
Your donation will go directly to helping Zach and his wife Vicky cover essential costs while they rebuild their life and face recovery head-on. Every dollar, every share, every show of support matters.
Zach has always given to others—now it’s our turn to give back.
