Anyone who knows my mom knows her heart of gold. She is one of the most selfless and caring people I have ever met in my life. It always seems that the worst things happen to the best people. A woman who has dedicated her life to helping strangers in a hospital, no matter what she had going on in her own life, she showed up and made a difference with a smile on her face. She is the best mom in the whole world; she is my rock and my best friend. The day she called me and told me she was diagnosed with the rarest breast cancer, my whole world changed. As time went on, we realized just how rare this cancer is. Pretty much every doctor was perplexed; no one has dealt with this type of cancer. It is so rare that there are not even any approved treatment protocols for it. She has dedicated her life to being nothing but healthy, so I keep finding myself asking, “Why her?” Why is this happening to such a kind, caring, and loving person? Why is this happening to someone who has dedicated their life to God? All questions that no one can answer.
With this fundraiser, I am asking for help. For anyone else who feels they have been failed by the medical field, I really hope you can understand why we are asking for help. All the doctors around us are throwing a typical treatment at a very rare, under-researched, and foreign cancer. I have stayed up all night looking for alternatives, knowing there have to be places out there that can do more for her. I have found countless places that are willing to work with her and figure out the best way to get her on the other side of this. However, these places are quite expensive. We do not have a lot of time to make a decision, and I really am getting tired of money always being the factor closing these doors for us. So I am asking for some help; anything helps at this point. I am reaching out to all of God's children out there, to anyone willing to help save my mom. She has so many people who need her: 5 daughters, a new granddaughter, a husband, and all her friends who cherish her just as much as we do, and I promise this list could go on. Anything that anyone can give will be beyond appreciated, god bless anyone else dealing with this horrific disease.
