Dear friends,

My name is Odile, and I'm a local doula. As you may know, I have been supporting a new family who welcomed their newborn three weeks ago. Some of you have already helped them with donating items.

Those young new parents won the green card lottery in June, and they left their country hoping for the American dream and a better future for their child. They arrived in the US with two suitcases and hopes. Dad is working, but more is needed to buy and furnish an apartment from scratch. They are both learning English, and they are eager to work hard.

Thanks to many generous people, we have been able to furnish the apartment. Can you imagine being a postpartum mom and not having a chair, a table, or a plate? They haven't asked me or anyone for anything, but everyone needs a little help and a chance to get a better life.

I'm asking for one last favor: They now have a bed frame (donation), but their blow-up mattress doesn't fit. I'd love to get them a brand-new mattress, pillows, and a few other items so they can live dissently with their adorable newborn.
