I am a recent liver transplant recipient that is battling through homelessness with nowhere to go. I have been placed in a homeless shelter that houses both the male and female community. I never would've thought that I would be in my current position. I tried really hard to keep my situation from progressing to this however I just couldn’t keep it from progressing to the current situation. Unfortunately in the whole process, I lost my car, my home, my job, and for a period of time my independence. The uncertainty of what I was and still am facing wreaks havoc on my thoughts and mentalities. The life sustaining medications that I must have to sustain my life after the surgery are very expensive and difficult to obtain. My immune system is low and puts me at high risk of life or death complication due to the simplest of things; a common cold. The shelter I am in is riddled with sick and ill people, people that are not the best when it comes to hygiene, and people who just don’t care that they are potentially making others sick. I have exhausted all of my savings in an attempt to sustain my basic needs and requirements. I have been denied by the social services system that wasn’t understanding of my situation. I just need some type of help getting back up on my feet. I have lost everything while fighting to continue to live and need the support of humanity to get through this difficult period of time. Being vulnerable and humble enough to admit I am homeless and asking for help is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. trying to gather funds to get an apartment for myself and meet the most basic of needs. I am asking you all to either donate to help me or pass my information on to someone who will help and keep this movement going. I just want the opportunity to have the most basic of things…. A safe place to call home and money for the medical expenses that I am currently struggling with financially. I received the gift of life and I am asking the same community that I have cared for to help me this time. I appreciate any and all assistance that anyone is willing to contribute or provide.
