Lakota is absolutely thrilled about the chance to join Napa Valley College’s annual Spanish Immersion Program in Salamanca, Spain this summer, led by the wonderful Professor Nicole Carrier! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her to immerse herself in the Spanish language and culture, building on the hard work she has put in since first grade.
The program begins in Madrid, where she’ll explore the city, visit the incredible Prado Museum and the Royal Palace, and experience Spain’s rich history firsthand. After two nights, she’ll travel to Salamanca, a lively university town, where she’ll stay with a host family and experience daily life as a local. Every morning, she’ll attend Spanish classes from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, strengthening her fluency in a way that just isn’t possible here. Afternoons will be hers to explore Salamanca, connect with locals, and embrace the culture. She will also get to enjoy traditional Spanish meals with a host family and take an excursion to the stunning towns of Segovia and La Granja.
This experience will be truly transformative, giving her the skills and confidence to use Spanish in real-world settings and deepening her global perspective. However, without financial support, our family wouldn’t be able to make this trip happen. That’s why we are reaching out for help—any contribution, big or small, will bring her closer to this incredible opportunity. If you’re able to donate or even just share Lakota's story, we would be beyond grateful. Thank you so much for your support in helping Lakota achieve this dream!
