Help a family survive crisis in Beirut

We’re reaching out on behalf of a family of five living in Beirut, Lebanon—an Armenian-Lebanese household that, like many others, has been deeply affected by the country’s economic collapse and the ongoing instability in the region. Due to a combination of political turmoil, financial devastation, and the collapse of healthcare support systems, this family is now facing serious hardship and urgently needs your help to cover basic living expenses and essential medication for their eldest son.

This family has always worked hard to maintain their dignity and independence. But with Lebanon’s deepening crisis, things have become unbearable. Prices have skyrocketed, job opportunities are scarce, and many public and private institutions that once offered support have either shut down or become overwhelmed. Rent, food, electricity, and medical expenses have become nearly impossible to manage—and this is where your support can make a life-changing difference.

The eldest son of the family, whom we’ll refer to as K for his privacy and safety, is in his early 20s and was the family’s sole provider. He worked as a private tutor for a while and did everything he could to ensure his younger siblings had access to food, school, and a roof over their heads. Unfortunately, due to the worsening economic conditions, K lost his job a few weeks ago. This devastating blow has left the entire family without an income.

On top of that, K is dealing with a chronic health condition that requires daily medication. In recent months, this medication has become increasingly scarce and unaffordable in Lebanon due to supply issues and the lack of governmental or NGO support. What used to be provided for free is now often unavailable, and when it is, it comes at a steep cost that the family simply cannot afford anymore.

Because of the social stigma and dangers associated with his condition, especially within the current societal climate, K cannot safely disclose the full details of his health. But please know this: the medication he needs is not optional—it is life-sustaining. And without access to it, K’s health and future are at serious risk.

This GoFundMe campaign aims to raise enough funds to support the family for the next 4–5 months. The donations will go directly toward:

• Rent to keep a roof over their heads

• Groceries and household essentials for the family of five

• Medication and health-related expenses for K

• Basic utilities like electricity, water, and heating

This period of support will give K the time he needs to recover emotionally and physically from the recent setbacks and, most importantly, find a new job. He’s actively looking for alternative work opportunities, including remote and freelance jobs, but opportunities are limited, and in the meantime, the situation is becoming more dire by the day.
