My name is Isaac and I have been selected to go to Norway on a team of US junior biathletes to compete in the Bama Liatoppen Skiskytter Festival! The festival is made up of three races at the end of the week. It is for athletes under 16, as of the start of 2025, and last year, there were about 750 athletes that raced.
Since I was super small, I’ve always wanted to go to Norway, because that’s where my family is from. It's truly amazing that the festival is only two towns away from one of my ancestral family farms and I will be able to see where my family emigrated from in 1866. Getting to go on this trip will make my dream come true, and also give me the experience of racing at an international race, so I hope you can help me achieve this.
To experience this incredible opportunity, I have to raise a minimum of $2,200 to cover the expenses of my race experience over the week in Norway and transportation of my sporting equipment. Once we get there, it may be more. The team was just announced, and funds are due October 1. If I raise any extra funds, I will use them towards local race fees and coaching.
My goal for nordic skiing is to qualify to go to Junior Nationals in March, and for Biathlon, fitting in shooting twice a week, at my house and also going up to Craftsbury, Vermont. Outside of sports, I’m working on becoming more organized and better at managing time, which will be vital for going on this trip and missing school. Over the week, I'm excited to become friends with other biathletes around the country my age, work with the team coaches, and meet people from other countries too.
Thank you so much for supporting me in this amazing opportunity I have ahead of me; your help will make this experience possible.
