On March 14, 2025, a tornado ripped through the Wedgewood subdivision in Florissant. Unfortunately, it uprooted most of the large trees along our property line and took out the front part of my house, my 2024 Jeep Compass, and totally demolished the secondary house on the property. Myself, along with my 3 future foster girls, were at home when it happened. We had just finished up a wonderful dinner and were getting ready to watch a movie when I heard the sirens go off. In our area, it is usually no big deal, but as soon as I heard the rushing noise, I knew what was coming next. I calmly but quickly told the girls to get into the bathroom, and I gathered them under me as the trees started crashing through the living room. I knew immediately it wasn’t good; I could hear the wood cracking and the glass breaking. All I could do was hover over them and pray that the Lord keep them safe. By the grace of God, we all came out without a scratch.
Unfortunately, due to the house fire back in December 2021, I wasn't eligible for insurance until December of this year. So, I have no homeowners insurance.
Anything will help.
