No matter how much they struggle, this couple never turns away an animal in need.

On our bikepacking journey through Serbia, we found three abandoned puppies who would not have survived on the streets. They were welcomed into the home of a couple who already cares for 17 dogs and 5 cats, many of them once abandoned. Now their family has grown to 20.

Both of them are artists. Their life is full of love, laughter and joy with the animals, but it is not easy. They live without running water or heating in parts of their home, and every day is a challenge to feed and care for everyone.

Without them, these three puppies might not be alive today. Their love gave them life. Now we want to help them continue.

We know donating is not always easy. Even giving one euro to strangers can feel like a lot. But for them, for these puppies, and for the many other animals they care for, it means the world.

What the funds will support:

• Dog and cat food for 20 animals

• Veterinary visits: castration, sterilisation, and vaccinations (50–80€ per dog depending on size)

• Medical bills: one dog had cancer surgery earlier this year, and a cat needs ongoing care for digestion problems

• Building a stronger fence so the dogs can run safely and the couple can leave their home without worry

• A water pump for their well, their main water supply

• Renovation support: fixing chimneys and completing unfinished parts of the house to make winters survivable

• Daily necessities directly connected to the animals’ wellbeing

Every winter is a struggle, and they are never sure how they will make it through. This support would not only ease their daily life but also secure the future of their animals. And even allow them to welcome more abandoned dogs and cats in the future.
